About Gudauri
Gudauri is situated on the main Caucasian range not far from the Cross Pass on the Georgian Military Road, at 120 km distance from Tbilisi.
In winter time Gudauri reminds a fairy tale miracle shining under the Sun rays. Even in a year scarce of snow, Gudauri has a guaranteed snow cover starting December till April. Snow cover is 1.5 meters at average on the slopes. Being a highland resort Gudauri still is known for its warm, sunny and still days.

Hiking in the presence of lofty 5000 meter peaks is truly invigorating - the more so due to the area's lack of discovery. Local companies and guides offer a splendid selection of walking and trekking tours through this majestic scenery.

One memorable hike starts near Gudauri then leads through the dramatic Khada valley. A moderate trek along mountain ridges and meadows takes you to the comfortable Khada hut at 2670m with its opportunities for overnight stays. Similarly, just north of the Jvari Pass the Truso valley, famous for its mineral water, invites hikers into an area of dramatic high altitude scenery. The village of Sno in the Kazbegi valley draws rock climbers from all over the world. The peaks of Chaukhi Mountain are perfectly designed for climbs of all levels.

Most famous of all hikes in the area starts at the foot of the looming Mt Kazbek. You walk through Gergeti village; wind up a small mountainside to the Holy Trinity Church, perched dramatically on a hillock under the dramatic gaze of Mt Kazbek.
